21-year-old killed after vehicle crashes into building in Butler County

A 21-year-old man was killed after a vehicle he was a passenger in struck a building in Butler County Tuesday.According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at around 9:01 p.m. a 22-year-old from Middletown was driving a 2008 Mini Cooper on Lefferson Road at a “very high rate of speed.” The driver lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the left side of the road and hit a building.The driver sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. A 22-year-old passenger of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and a 17-year-old passenger sustained life-threatening injuries, troopers said. Both are receiving treatment at a hospital.Charles Barrett, 21, of Middletown, Ohio, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene, OSHP said.Troopers are still investigating the crash.
