2nd man dies after head-on crash involving SCDOT vehicle in Greenwood County, coroner says

ALAN: GOOD EVENING TO YOU. TROOPERS SAY A VEHICLE HERE ON HIGHWAY 178 CROSSED THE CENTERLINE AND SLAMMED INTO AN SCDOT VAN CRYARING THREE EMPLOYEES, AND RIGHT NOW, SEVERAL FAMILIES ARE GRIEVING. 2nd man dies after head-on crash involving SCDOT vehicle in Greenwood County, coroner says

Crash happened Thursday morning on Highway 178 in Greenwood County

A second man has died following a crash Thursday in Greenwood County. The crash happened about 6:30 a.m. on Highway 178 near Scotts Ferry Road. Coroner Sonny Cox said Jonathan Titus, 24, of Bradley, died at the hospital Friday morning. Troopers said Titus’ Chrysler 2000 hit a South Carolina Department of Transportation van head-on after crossing the centerline. Charles “Chuck” Barry Kennedy, 59, of McCormick, was driving the SCDOT van and was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt-force trauma, Cox said.South Carolina Department of Transportation Secretary Christy Hall said the SCDOT crew was on the way to a worksite. Two other people inside the van were injured.
