GREENWICH — Advocates of a extra bicycle-friendly city are stepping up their strain on native officers and making an attempt to broaden their enchantment generally.

With an open letter to residents on their web site and a spot on the First Selectman’s new bicycle job power, members of Pedal Greenwich wish to catch the ear — and imaginations — of the driving public.

“No group has ever regretted bettering multi-use entry by way of streets, roads, lanes, byways and paths,” the letter states. “Assist us get this long-delayed component of any fascinating group’s infrastructure achieved.”

The idea of a bicycle-friendly Greenwich just isn’t new. The city has an already present 25-year-old bicycle grasp plan that Pedal Greenwich says must be put in place; members of the biking group have advocated for the type of cross-town bike route that some residents pushed unsuccessfully to have included within the present city price range.

“That is one thing we’ve talked about for a very long time on the town and we’ll see what we will and may’t do,” First Selectman Fred Camillo stated Wednesday.
